Japanese embroidery has had a profound and lasting impact on my life. Over time, it has grown from a simple interest into a deep passion that continually inspires and challenges me. The beauty, precision, and patience required in Japanese embroidery make it a truly unique art form, and every piece created reflects a rich tradition and a thoughtful process. Through practicing and learning these techniques, I have developed not only technical skills but also a greater appreciation for the craftsmanship and history behind this remarkable craft.

Because of this, I am passionate about encouraging others to explore and learn these beautiful and absorbing techniques. I believe that Japanese embroidery offers people the opportunity to slow down, focus, and experience the satisfaction that comes from creating something intricate and meaningful by hand. Sharing this art form with others and helping them discover its elegance and depth is something that brings me great joy.

One-Day Taster Classes

Curious to try Japanese embroidery?

I offer one-day introductory sessions at my home or can visit local embroidery groups.

Learn how to stitch the traditional cherry blossom motif with twisted silk and metal threads.

Kit provided including silk fabric pre-mounted onto a square embroidery frame and all threads and needles.

A mounting kit is available to display your first piece of Japanese embroidery.

Monthly Day Classes

Held at my home in Fleet, Hampshire, these classes follow the structured phases of the Japanese Embroidery Centre, guiding students through authentic techniques and progressive skill development.

• My own practice designs including a foundation sampler

• Traditional stitching techniques and design principles
